Paul Dunbar of the Property Litigation Team recently spoke to the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in Jersey on the subject of Commercial Property Management. The title of his talk was "Managing Commercial Property for Success". There were over 70 delegates from across the Trust and Fund Management industries in attendance and the talk was very well received.
Bindra v Chopra
In late June 2009 the House of Lords dismissed a petition for leave to appeal leaving the Court of Appeal's unanimous judgment in Bindra v Chopra intact.
That judgment upheld the High Court Chancery Division decision in favour of our client Angela Bindra.

Three Interesting Cases on the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 decided in 2008
The first case is one which applies common sense. There are two ways of contracting out of the 1954 Act. If a Lease is entered into more than 14 days after service of a Notice, a simple Declaration, and not a Statutory Declaration, is required. If less than 14 days then a Statutory Declaration is needed. In the case of Patel –v- Chiltern Railway Co.
